Topic : Bald Eagle League Night

Hey, My ol man is going to be out of town next week and won't let me take along the pride and joy watercrat that we usually fish out of. So i am wondering if anybody has room for an extra fisherman in their boat. I do not know Bald Eagle very well. They only thing is that im not 100% sure if i am able to make it due to work obligations. So if you think you may have room, please let me know and we will be in touch.

Thanks

Christian

They did chop the weeds.  The lake a**ociation has been raising funds the last couple years to do it.  I don't know when or how often, but I know they have chopped weeds a few times this year

Very good advice knabem. Forest has been very tough in the evenings/night, whereas my action in the mornings has been superior also. Just wait for the weedbeds to develop back up to size then  I think the night bite should pick up. According to year's past experience Wink

Went out for 4 hours today. Tried everything under the sun. Had one fish hump up behind a topraider for 15 feet and then dissappeared. Cold front really had my number.

Hey Mark thanks for the invite.  I would like to go sometime, but Saturday doesn't work.  I have to work adn drop my son off at the babysitter.

We didn't catch any last night, but I did have my first follow of the year on Forest Lake.  I had one boil behind my phantom just after sundown as well.  The best luck I have had out there in weeks.  Beautiful night.

I actually moved down to WBL in the past year and have not been able to fish Forest that often. Would love to make a morning trip one of these days if you are interested. Will probably do a morning trip Saturday if you are interested. Let me know.

Forest seems to shut down every year around this time. I have fished Forest Heavily in the past and found that it turns into a morning bite around this time of year. By morning I am saying 3-6am with topwaters in 6 feet of water or less. Generally fishing the boggy shallows. I have also had more luck on the north shoreline when the wind is blowing south. If you don't like ripping your bait through the weeds all the time get a topraider and take the front hook off so you can grin it through the slop.

I have had some trouble finding fish out on Forest Lake this summer.  I am taking my dad out tonight adn would like to move some fish.  Any suggestions on prestentations, lures, colors?  I don't expect anyone to give up any spots, but any ideas would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Fished this morning from 4am-7am on Bald Eagle. Caught a 43 inch on a green pacemaker around 5am. Then about an hour later around 6ish I caught a 47 1/2 inch fish on a black/green ghost tail spinnerbait. Caught her on about the 30th figure eight. She dissappeard twice and came kept coming back. Finally on the last figure eight I thought I saw her mouth open behind the bait so I just ripped the rod back into her and got a real solid hook set. Left at 7 once the late risers filled the lake and saw a jetski. Back out tonight weather permitting.

John Alden Knights - Solunar Tables - 2010....Thorne Bros.   $6.49.  I find it very valuable.  If you've seen some fish and there lazy go back to those fish during the minor and major and try again.   Fish seem to be more active even if you don't catch one.  Often I will check the calendar after catching a fish or having several follows and sure enough its during one of the peak periods.  Current weather patterns seem to trump the major/minor periods.

The In Fisherman has a table you can print off on-line with peak periods as well.

Topic : Moving to New Waters!

I have primarily been fishing the waters on the east side of the metro so far in my muskie fishing life.  I will be moving to Victoria MN on August 1st.  That means that I will be 4 miles to Minnetonka and 7 miles to Waconia, so my muskie fishing focus will be changing.  If anyone is on that side of town that wants to get out some time to learn those lakes a litte with me let me know or even better if someone can provide some guidance I will bring the beverages and throw in a homemade bucktail.  my email is jasondickson@uwalumni.com or shoot me a response on here.  Thanks!!
