June Annual Picnic & Lure Swap

Remember, the June Meeting will be our Annual Picnic and Lure Swap. It will be held at the same place it has the last couple of years, Riverfront Park on East River Road in Fridley, see the map below, ¼ mile south of 694 on East River Road. Picnic starts at 6pm. This is a great time to get together, eat a bit, swap some lures and also swap information on the early season Muskie Fishing. Bring all of your favorite, and not so favorite lures and other tackle for swapping with other members, so start looking at those baits now. Hot dogs, Chips, Salads, Pop and Beer are provided, doesn’t get much better than that!?!

Donate Your Old “Stuff”

Got old fishing gear? Please bring any fishing stuff you don’t use to the May meeting. Muskie, walleye, panfish; any type of fishing gear. I will collect it and donate it to the Fishing for Life organization. We’re talking old rods & reels, tackle boxes, tackle, tools, and other fishing related items. The volunteers at Fishing for Life clean and refurbish the equipment and then distribute it to underserved youth of the Twin Cities. 2012 June Jam Muskie Tournament: June 16-17

The June Jam is a 100% catch and release muskie tournament hosted by the North Metro Chapter of Muskies, Inc., emphasizing sportsmanship and respect for the resource. There is no weigh-in or transport of fish, and all fish are immediately released in their home waters after being witnessed and recorded for tournament points. Thanks to great support from our fantastic sponsors and participants, the tournament is the chapter's largest fundraiser each year.

Were still looking for Team Members to represent

The annual Chapter Challunge will be on Lake of the Woods this year and we are looking for North Metro members to be part of the team that takes back the trophy this year. The dates for the Challunge are August 24th, 25th & 26th.

Although the tournament is Wed – Fri many of the people that fish the tournament spend the entire week on the lake “prefishing” (you decide what this really means). Headquarters for the tournament this year will be Red Wing Lodge located on

Sabaskong Bay near Morson Ontario.
